how to install AEM wideband on a 98 gst

Simple. Run the wideband through the steering shaft boot. Run it down to the downpipe where your o2 bung is welded. Insert into bung. Run wires to where the gauge will be and start the car.

Make sure it has a good ground ... and is grounded by itself. If not, you may have a high frequency noise any time it's on.

Now is the time to invest in an O2 sensor socket or make money. When I started using NTK sensors, I became cautious about how easy they are to damage because they are so expensive to replace.

I just took out my front o2 sensor and put the wideband sensor in there. Then I spliced into my wiring harness so that dsmlink could ready it. I made sure to keep the wire up out of the way so it didn't get caught on anything

im keeping them in and welding the bung after the 1st o2 sensor. between 25-30 inches from the manifold. my question is if its dumped will I still get an accurate reading???

So i know we are in 2020 and this is about 7 years old but i was wondering if i i can put the uego wideband sensor in either stock o2 location (1st or 2nd) and will this gauge send a signal to simulate the stock o2?

Not in stock fashion, you would need a way to simulate narrowband signal (cough*) ecmlink. I do believe the aems are more finicky as well although it may depend on the model... I run an innovate with ecmlink simulating narrow band.
