what is all behind installing a new or used computer to replace a burnt up computer in a 93 gsx. it seems to easy to just bolt up and plug in there has to be more. Is there?:nono:

Remove the carpeted trim panels on either side of the center console.

Use a 10mm socket to unbolt the ECU mounts on each side of the center console.

Unplug all 3 ECU connectors and pull out passenger side of console.

Install is the opposite of removal.

i know all that i pulled mine out thanks but you just bolt it up and plug it in and run or is there more to it like coding it or something like that.

Plug it in and go. No need to do anything special like todays ECU's

Yes only the 90 91-94 where different. But that was just a pin swap to make it work.

Hey,

if you change your ECU you should run the engine ~10 min without any appliance in idle speed.
That´s necessary to train the ECU to all the electrical stuff etc. e.g. the ISC.

And of course this should go without saying!

I disconnect my battery ground when I swap ECUs.

Apart from that everything was described :)

Regards
