so i think i shorted out the wiring to my dash lights installing an aftermarket radio, but im a complete newb and could really use some help on getting my cluster out and fixing the dash lights! i looked before i posted so hopefully you all arent mad at me for posting! :)

1) Move steering wheel in the lowest position
2) Remove Cluster trim (4 screws total) - 2 on top, 2 at the bottom. You'll need a short screw driver.
3) Remove screws that hold the instrument cluster - 4 screws (if I recall correctly)
4) PULL the cluster towards you HARD until the releases itself from the connectors in the back
5) Rotate the cluster carefully and pull it out of the dash. If you yank it out, you'll end up scratching the plastic piece that goes over the steering column.

Same thing happened to me recently. Check the fuses under the hood. There's one labeled "tail lights" or "rear lights" (can't remember) and it turns out that is somehow connected to the dash lights.

My dash lights went out and I found out that fuse was blown due to the wiring behind the stereo being loose from the previous owner rigging it up instead of doing it right with the proper wire connectors.

Checked all the fuses, appear to all be okay?? i saw that under the hood there appeared to be a relay (i think) marked tail light in addition to the 15AMP fuse marked the same. any chance i screwed it up?

ok so i finally fixed it. when we crossed the wires in the radio we some how burnt up the rheostat switch. today was a long day under the dash but i only bled once! LOL but i just said eff the switch i dont need to dim it bad enough to wait for one to come in so i hard wired it. YAY! DASH LIGHTS WORK AGAIN!
