Same crack my 16G smokes, apparently.

When I race at the track, I run 30psi spikes that settle down to 24 to 25psi, depending on how cold it is.

you must be a damn good driver! good job :thumb: hopefully my big16g and fwd will take me somewhere near where youre et.

i wanna hit some of that crack too!!! :)

350 is possible but, definatly good tuning, and all mods.
i made 260hp without fmic, put fmic and cams i shouold have 300+

We made 313fwhp on a big16G, 2-178 FMIC, 550s, AFC, 3", pump, 264s, 19psi pump gas. The tuning was pretty conservative, it had more in it. On race gas, it made like 34x before the oil filter backed off and the car was shut down. It was still climbing and might have topped off at around 370+.

Well lets get deep into our train of thought. What we should be looking at is usable power. Whats the point of making X amount of power if it's only in the far regions of the upper rev limit.

When people ask these types of questions it makes me really think about how I can help them . If the car is daily driven you def want power from 2500 rpm and up so torque/spool is very important because this is basically where you are going to be spending most of your time when city driving. None of us live on a road course, so we don't see 4500 rpm to red line scenarios.

We have to keep these things in mind and the evo316g definitely does produce this but for it to truly shine in the upper rpm range where most people suffer at the track, you need to address the cams and injectors . I personally think a 264 combo is perfect for the evo as it doesn't hinder idle and is aggressive enough for the evo316g turbo where as a 272 combo felt off for some reason. I say this because I've been in two dsm' both with the e316g and these said cams ,again my "personal" preference was to the 264 combo over the 272 combo.

I have 680 injectors which has given me enough room to play with on the e316g So I would recommend those as the highest anybody should go when only tunning with an AFC. I have since looked into doing the e-prom ecu route so tuning would be much more easier. I would seriously recommend the e-prom route to anybody ,for the simple fact that it fine tunes the car to your wants and needs ,nothing is nicer then safe guarding the timing at wot ,or a stutter box for the tree.

To further touch base on torque a stroker build would do wonders with the e316g. Slowboy racing made 400whp at around 6000 rpm which is amazing considering how fast the turbo must have spooled and for us road racing guys that rpm point is optimal because we do see that rpm range very often. Slowboy stated they could have made more power if the intake manifold didn't become a restriction ,this elevates two problems one it wont affect air flow in the lower rpm ranges but will make a huge difference in the upper ranges. I have a magnus smim and love it because it make power from 6000 rpm and up.With the stroker (which I will implament at a later date) the smim would have more of an affect because of a wider rpm range of use say 5700 till redline in contrast to 6000rpm till redline.

OK what else can we for see to make usable power smoothly through the rpm range ,lets try the intake track. By replacing all the restrictions we can still see power gains that will benefit the entire rpm range I.e get rid of that accordion tube. Exhaust a 3 inch o2 housing and downpipe is what I have and will vouch for. My low boost setting is at 17 psi And I don't have boost creep problem, but my turbo does spool like a bat out of hell.

I am personally taking a step in a pro like direction by having my exhaust housing extruded honed. Speaking of exhausts by upgrading to a tubular exhaust manifold we make the exhaust flow less turbulent when entering the housing ,this makes for quicker spool and even more usable power.

I really suggest people look into having their performance parts compliment each other rather then just throwing parts on.

I also have my entire fuel system upgraded from the pump to the lines right down to the regulator. These are a must if you want to make sure all the flow has been accounted for and the most possible power/torque is being used.

Whats nice about the evo316g turbo is it's so versatile ,perfect street turbo, great 1/4 turbo, awesome roadcourse turbo, small enough to fool anybody. What more could you ask for? Oh and if you've done all the mods I've mentioned then you already know whats next,,,,,traction ,,LSD,clutch, transmission, lighter rims, stickier tires. When will it ever stop?

But take note that after all is done and about 25 grand had been spent ,you can outrun some ls1' ,vipers and even Porsche's for a fraction of the cost. Oh and lets not forget brakes. Good luck guys. :boring: wow I'm tired of always writing so much. :toobad:
