how to get motor out of car (not newb question!)

OK, I have a wrecked 1991 GSX sitting about a half mile from my house, I need to strip the thing by monday night, I want my 6 bolt outta there, only thing is, is that it was hit in the front. I turned the engine off with the key 45 secs after the impact, so i know it runs. The hood is all bunched up and stuff, I just want your guys advice on how to get it out of there, its sitting on the ground right now.

How should I go about getting my 6-bolt out of the car. (I can not sawzall the front end off, as it needs to be towed to a junkyard.)

Get an engine jack, unbolt your engine mounts, remove/takes off/cut all connecting lines wires and what ever else you dont want.

BTW, tranny is prolly shit, as it was not towed with a flatbed

Yikes! Your dsm sustained a pretty good crunch! I'm glad you're OK and its cool the engine wasn't damaged.
You're not going to be able to do this without the help of your friendly local sawzall or some other kind of cutting tool.. start cutting and don't worry... wrecking yard guys can tow pretty much anything with a title, it doesn't even need to have wheels, so keep your rims if they're anything of value. Chances are they have a flatbed they can bring if you ask them.

If it were me, I'd yank everything that could be easily removed/sold such as trans/case, rear end, interior, etc. along with the engine before you send it to the crusher. If you're worried about the wrecking yard's ability to haul off the shell, just call them and ask.. I'll bet they tell you they can haul off anything no matter how f'd up it is!
