hello, i have a non turbo eclipse 91, and i want more power..

i have modified the air intake with a k&n air filter, all manifoilds are ported, spark plugs wires, bosch spark plugs, headers, borla muffler and 2.5" exhaust pipe free. but i need more power

what can i put into the motor to gain more power??

What is your HP goal?
there are some companies out there that offer turbo kits for the non turbo eclipse but becareful as some are not so good!
I would suggest doing some research and use a reputable company!
Or you can do a 4G63 engine swap that has a turbo on it!

just my $.02

Turbo

Do you have a 4g63 or a 4g37 motor?

And it would be nice if you didn't type "HPs" any more. If you replaced the acronym with what it implies, then you're really saying "how to get more horsepowers from a non turbo eclipse 91?" It's more difficult to find help when your grammar makes others laugh.

I would start looking into some turbo setups for it. Unless you are trying to stay N/A. If you don't want a turbo you are most likely going to have to start building the internals of your motor to see any other big changes. :thumb:

i was thinking on buying the Venom 400 and the Venom VCN 1000 no, but i call venom call center and they say the this two wont work togheter, so i have to decide one of them

im sorry for my grammar but im from Guatemala, and my english its not to good.
thanks for your reply

i want the car to make lower 10s in the 1/8 mile
i think thats about 300HP

not with a N/A im sorry bud its just not happening and 300 fwhp isnt going to get you into the 10's it would skyrocket you to about the 9's in the 1/8 depending on the driver

you'll need a 2.4l stroker, with at least 12:1 compression and LOTS of cam. Probably a new engine management system that uses alpha n, so you can goto individual tb's and junk the factory style setup.

You'll probably need a stg 4 tranny so you can shift at 10k, bc thats where all your power will be.

Aint tryin to be a dick bud but its not worth it! And would cost way too much! Sell ## NA and get an AWD turbo!

That's just not true. The n/t can be had for farless than an awd. Add the turbo parts and a conservative boost and you have his goal. I know from experience that this is possible. So no. If you've done this, then please contribute the reasn why it isn't worth it. I can say you smell and you're lazy but unless I prove it it's just a series of 1's and 0's that really should mean nothing to you. And I hope it wouldn't offend you, because I'm just trying to make a point.

I suggest buying a few turbo 4g63 parts and going from there. They are cheap and reliable and easy to install. Unless you have some adoration and skill with building power with the handicap of not controling the atmosphere entering your engine. If so, then you know enough not to ask :) .

thank you i wasnt able to get an AWD and it sucks yes i know but i drove one and i dont like it my gst will stomp any gsx or AWD around here

I've converted a n/t 2.0 talon to turbo this past winter, I highly recommend it if you can find the parts cheap. I got a whole 6 bolt motor with harness and ecu for $100, but I just put the turbo on the non-turbo and swapped the harness and ecu. The results are definitely worth it.

You can buy better camshafts with longer duration and lift, but you will also need to get stronger springs. If you do not have the money to spend on aftermarket cams, try to find the camshafts out of a 1993-1994 manual transmission turbo DSM, Not an automatic. The turbo camshafts have more lift and duration and will give you a noticeable power increase after 4500 RPM.

I also suggest replacing your N/T transmission with a turbo FWD transmission. The axle ratio is lower in the turbo transmission, but the gears are longer and the lower axle ratio helps to control wheel spin when you launch.
