2G How to fix hyper flash when using LED bulbs

Little break down on why and how i got to this stage.
My cars in the UK, so we are similar to EU rules and regs so we have only Amber indicators in the rear, but when the car was imported so many years ag,o they rewired some bits, took some wires out for the rear and it needed tidying up.

So I lost the 4 rear bulbs that are USA regs for brake and indicator, the front wings get side markers and the bumper marker was an indicator. When i recently redid the wiring to get rid of old wires and clean it up, i ditched a few bulbs as i dont need them no more and this caused me some issues even before LED bulbs! I bought some LED bulbs that had build in resisters but clearly they were not enough for the system and not able to compensate for it.

The fix is simple and easy and its less then $5 to do and its hidden!!!

The oem Loop thats normally in this spot adds 1ohm of resistance, which is fine for filament type bulbs but not good for LED ones.
The new unit adds 6ohms of resistance and is good for 50watts so plenty of power to spare and can cover a good amount of LED bulbs inline.

Really simple to do! Desolder the OEM loop and solder in the new one! It's that simple. This should take care of most of your needs as its a fairly decent sized unit. I made a small slit on the housing for the wires to sit through when its all capped back up and taped it down.

Don't know if they will ship to the UK? But I used this relay and have no issues, I have all led around the car. works good.

Talons got the 3 pins but the Eclipse got the module and its not an easy swap to convert. We dont have it as easy as the Talon owners LOL

Ordered the resistor to fix hyperflash. You say it's under the dash I can't seem to find it. Driver side?
Its been a while but from memory it was somewhere in the middle behind the dash.

Yeah i searched around the internet its gonna be behind the radio. Thanks for the write up though 💯
most welcome, hope it helps you like it did with me. I hated my hyperflash and so glad I did this to fix it

man, idk if the resistor they sent is bad or what. de-soldered the oem loop, soldered in the new resistor, and had absolutely no blinkers or hazards, can hear the box clicking like they're flashing but no lights. Double checked solder points everything was connected good but still no luck. took aftermarket resistor out and soldered oem loop back in and blinkers work again... I guess ill stay halogen for a lil longer. any suggestions? Continuity on resistor is good from end to end.

oh no! was it a 50W 6ohm unit like the one i had? thats odd. I dont believe they are sided and should be reversable but perhaps thats something certain units work like maybe?

hmmm that should work then. Im sorry I am not able to help further on that, it should be a simple swap but now you got me wondering LOL

Yeah i thought i broke the board or something when taking the oem loop off but obviously not cuz it works again LOL. I'll try another one and see what happens. Thanks
welcome dude. Hopefully we can get you to the correct resister that does work for you
