How to deal with code-p0443- Evap purge Control Valve

Comes up as Evaporative emissions control system purge control valve circuit....
Is this the purge control solenoid?? If so mine is missing...ive looked where its supposed to be and the whole bracket is missing...must have been removed by previous owner...why I dont know, I guess he likes lookin at a CEL...but I dont and neither do the inspection ppl...
does anyone know what I need to replace or do to get rid of this code perminantly???
If i need to get a new purge control solenoid, where could I get one...my normal places just dont have it I guess i could go to the dealer, but id like to know what i need before I go...

Check if you charcoal canister (located under the battery tray) is still there. If not the previous owner ripped out the EVAP system.

its gone....will the code go away with just the solenoid hooked up? Well I ordered one in hopes of clearing the code...Hopefully I wont have to replace the canister also...
Anyone feel like chiming in here?
