Ok, so I am currently in the process of installing my Innovate Mtx-l wide-band. I like to do the work on my car but I have never done any type of electrical work in my life on ANYTHING. EVER. So I need some help with how to connect this stuff together... This is kind've embarrassing for me because I have never been this clueless working on something on my car before so I really appreciate if you guys could teach me a thing or two.

Here is my understanding (I have done my research):

-The RED wire needs to go to a switched 12v source.
-The BLACK wire needs to go to a ground.
-The WHITE wire needs to go to a headlight powered wire but NOT the actual dimming wire/dimming switch.
-The YELLOW wire needs to go to ECU pin 76, 73, 75, or 85 to log the WB and to run narrow-band simulation.
-The BROWN wire needs to be capped and is not used.

Here is what I don't understand and need help with (this is a lot because I have no idea what I am doing, sorry):

-[Figured this out] I don't know what or where a 12v source is.
-[Found one, thanks] I don't know where a ground is in that area. (at least I know WHAT it is...)
-I don't know which wires are connected to the headlight dimming feature.
-[Learned from links] I have absolutely no idea how to connect the wires from the WB to another wire or if I even need to.

-I don't know how to connect a wire to the ECU pins or what I would need to do so.

-[Learned from links] The wires are really short coming from the wide-band so I think I am going to have to extend them somehow? I don't know how to do this either.

Now...

-I have tried to watch YouTube videos on wiring but they all expect you to have a general knowledge already it seems.
-I am a good learner
-I am a good sport
-I really appreciate any help anyone can give me on this
-If I can I will pass my knowledge on to anyone in the future.

Ok, so I found a good page showing how to tap into wires: How to properly tap into wires.

Now I just need to figure out which ones I want to tap and where. Supposedly there is a "gauges" fuse in the fuse box on the drivers side that is a 12v switched source that I could tap into. I am going to look when I get home and see how I would get into that one.

If that is all well I just need a ground, headlight powered wire, and the wire to the ECU.

Switch Positive,....... Test a fuse that has positive only when the switch is ON. (use a different fuse to adapt the wire to the fuse location. (Check post #13 for the use housing with the wire integrated).
How-To: Innovate MTX-L Wideband Install - SRT Forums - SRT4, SRT6, SRT8, SRT10 & Dodge Forum

Light,..................... There is a green with white stripe wire on the fuse panel, splice the wire and hook up the light wire from the gauge.

ECU,...................... Check on the above article, you will find the pin # from the ecu where you are going to hook up the wire of the gauge.

Ground,................. There are some bolts attached to the frame, one of them is holding the fuse box, Just bolt up the wire from one of those bolts going to the frame.

Fallow instructions from the tech article above.

If you don't know how to solder wires, Here is a good article.

Yeah, I used the front location. Just running narrowband simulation for the front.

Dumb question, after all this I can't screw the damn a pillar pod into the metal pillar behind it. None of my drill bits will go through it for the mounting screws. I see someone else drilled a perfect hole in it at some point before. What am I missing here? What do I need to use to get through that metal easily?

I must not be using the right tool for this. Should I try titanium metal twist drill bits?

Why narrowband?, you should use a wideband, a narrowband does nothing, it doesn't tell how lean or how rich it is.
However, if you are putting that there, than you don't cut the wire from the ecu,, you just splice it into two,.
I'm sorry for the bad information, I thought it was a wideband.:notgood:

On the A pilar, what kind of pilar you have, almost all pilars are attached to the original pilar and not to the frame, just bolt on the aftermarket pilar on to the original pilat.

Sorry, I should have worded that better. It is an innovate Mtx-l wideband. I just set it up to run narrowband simulation through ecu pin 76 for ECMlink. It is a wideband.

Well. I don't have the original plastic pillar for the car. It's never been there. So my options are to find one or screw into the frame. It looks like the pillar I bought attaches to the frame anyways. It came with 2 pretty deep screws to mount it.

Edit, those titanium "no walk" drill bits that I bought did the trick. One tool can make all the difference... They look great installed, better than the ghetto panel that was there before! Thank you for all your help Miguel! You made this a lot easier.
