I have a 1995 AWD 5Speed and just swapped the engine.
It previously had a 6-bolt and the new engine is a 6-bolt as well.
I have DSMLink V3 Lite. Everything worked fine prior to the swap.

Now that I am at the point of trying to start the car, I am running into problems.
I am unable to connect using DSMLink, and it will not crank.
I can hear the fuel pump prime and it is building pressure.

The accessories like radio, dash lights and interior lights all work fine.
I tested the ECU in another car and was able to connect and start.
None of the fuses in the engine bay appear to be blown.

I am in the process of reviewing the electrical manual and ECU pinouts to start doing some further troubleshooting.
Figured I would see if anyone else has experience with similar issues and could lend some possible resolutions in the mean time.

Thanks for any help.

I think there is 2 wires that need to be swapped if you didnt. Maybe searching that could help.

Have you checked your fuses at the battery?

I checked the fuses in the engine bay fuse box.
2g did not come with fuses directly from battery terminal.

I'm not sure which wire you are referring to.
If you are talking about the wires related to a 6-bolt in a 2g, those have already been switched from the previous 6-bolt swap.

Do you have power to your ecu, or the port for the link connector?

I am assuming that I do not and that is what is causing the problems, at least partially, until I can start testing to be sure.
What I'm trying to figure out is what may be causing this as far as I can tell all of the power and ground wires have been reconnected in the engine bay.

Is the fuel pump power controlled by the ECU? I can hear that prime and run when I try to crank. However it doesn't even try to turn over.

I should also mention that the car does have a viper alarm/remote start installed.
I am able to operate the remote to lock/unlock the car.
As far as I know this is only capable of interrupting the starter signal, which doesn't help much explaining why I am unable to connect to the ECU.

Well I've eliminated the ECU connect problem. Bad dsmlink cable.
Cranking issue resolved. Plug above transmission was disconnected.
After getting it to crank, was having a problem getting spark.
Turns out the AC and Coil Pack plug were swapped.
