I read in this article: www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-engine-fuel/185236-head-removal-mini-engine-rebuild.html to use "BG synchroshift" but I've been using royal purple for my engine and shopping around in the Napa Advance AutoZone's I saw my beautiful dark royal purple brand in tranny oil which happened to be the most expensive. Any opinions on brands? Is BG synchro like an industry standard or are the cheap ones sufficient or can I go with my heart and get royal purple because it's premium price equates to a premium quality? And do I have to somehow flush out the old fluid first(or is it more greasy), or just squeeze a whole tube right in there ontop of what might already be in there?

I doubt it makes a difference much what you use in a n/t transmission, but Jacks recommends either Mitsu Evo VIII MR oil or Redline MT90.

I have alot of experience using royal purple, and after you drain your transmission it will mix just fine with whats left in it.

Then R purp it is

I liked the Redline MTL and MT-90 mix. As for changing it. VFAQ.com has the perfect write up.

thanks. I'll check it out

You should only use manufacture recommended tranny oil as the NT has paper syncros.

If this happens to be wrong blame the wisemen I've read this from and the multiple links to this question I found.

I'm pretty positive that's for the 420a as that's Chrysler.

I would go with RedLine MT90. I don't know many people that are actually using RP to be honest. Not worth that price. Same with the motor oil.
