Hello,

Here in Brasil it's most common to have hi boost applications on Alchool, since it's also cheaper than gasoline and we can get from the pump. (Alchool not methanol).

Currently I'm running lots of modifications and the last dyno result was 538whp with a brazilian turbo.

Today I'm running a modified ECU with 8 fuel injectors (Very common in Brasil), with a piggyback controler for those 4 extra injectors.

I just bought a AEM EMS and a GT35R in order to have a better daily driven car and quicker spool. It's a known fact the alchool demands the double of the fuel flow of gasoline.

How much horse power does 1600cc injectors can handle on alchool applications? I'm expecting at least 600whp is that correct?

If not, does the AEM EMS can handle more that 4 fuel injectors?

My gallery is updated and most of my mods are maintained in my profile.

Sorry for my english.

Regards
Felipe

you may want to look at the AMS shop car (www.automotosports.com )

They are running dual fuel pumps and 1600cc injectors.... they have a very nice car/dyno/tuner, but they are making over 800hp on boost alone. I'm sure thats race gas, upwards of 40psi, and on a GT-42R, but if you are good I'm sure you can push alot out of your car.

On our sprint cars around here we run alcohol and 1400cc alcohol fuel injectors and we make in the range of over 830hp on some of the outlaws we build. With room to spare. Just make sure your fuel system is fitted for alcohol. I.E. Get rid of anything rubber or anything that will get eaten up by it. The most I have heard from on 1400cc injectors is in the nieghborhood of 998hp. That was about maxed out so you will be good to go. But you have to remember you burn alcohol more than twice what you burn gasoline.

Good website but alcohol is a whole new world. You burn more than twice what you would with normal gas. Plus you gotta love the fact that is burns so much cooler than gas too.

That's one thing which I still don't understand, if I'll need more than double of the fuel, how this injectors will provide this amount of fuel for such a horsepower?

Thanks for the tip, the entire fuel line is adapted for running alcohol, even the fuel tank had a treatment.

Could someone explain this to me?

Alright remember gasoline ideal Air to fuel ratio is 14.7:1

So it needs 14.7 pounds of air for 1 pound of fuel.

Alcohol on the other has a ratio of 7:1

So it needs 7 pounds of air to 1 pound of fuel.

Volatility of alcohol is really low. So it burns much cooler and isn't a big of a hazard if you spill it like gasoline.

Another thing is alcohols octane rating is around 105 so its better suited for high compression or forced induction engines. You don't literally need twice the amount of fuel. It burns twice as fast because of the ratio. The 1600cc injector is more than enough to get you over 1000HP.
