How much to recondition a 1g NT 2.0 TC? Total cost with removal and install? What about buying a used one in 'good shape' -- worth the savings?

I can get converters rebuilt and restalled for less than $200. That is with the fins being brazed and good bearings too. I can get stock ones for around $100.

Good to know. I'm pretty sure it's my TC giving me problems and not the trans itself but I'm not 100% on that. On accelaration in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears the rpms will drop/slip (always at around 2900) by a few hundred before resuming a normal rpm climb. The actual gear shifts are always crisp and sure (normal) and I don't hear any whining that sounds like gear slippage. In top gear and when in lock-up mode there is no perceivable slippage at all. Trans fluid and filter is good.
The problem hasn't been getting worse at all since I got the car 6 mths ago but rather it's been that predictable drop/slip in rpms always at about 2900 rpm  Anyone ever experience this problem before?
