how much boost can stock bov and head handle?

i am planning to up my boost i was wondering if my stock bov could handle 20psi? actually, will my stock motor be safe on 20psi? i have a 2g maf, 560cc evo injectors, an intake pipe, a walbro 190, a 16g, and im getting my ecu chipped for my setup. whats the most boost i can run and still be safe? i will eventually get a better headgasket and some arp headstuds but till then i dont want to break anything, but i still want to go faaaast

The stock bov may start leaking pressure to the atmosphere and you will loose power and the head can take up to 500 hp depending if you don't abuse it with over revving. There are a lot of factor that come in to play when dealing with the head, but I'd say you'll have no problems boost 20 psi on a stock turbo.

so the bov might leak, but the head will be fine? as long as my tunes good and im not knocking that is, i know that much. how much power is lost if the bov leaks?

To get straight to the point get a hks turbo xs or what ever your choice is for a aftermarket bov. Sound's cooler imo and worth the money. Trying to max stock part's out in my book is a no no.

The head WILL take whatever the pos plastic bov can throw at it, meaning the head can take a lot before it floats!

Hes got a 91, which means its a 1g BOV, not the platic 2g BOV. I ran a 1g BOV and 21psi with no issues whatsoever.

no need to change the 1g BOV , just crush it and you are good to go . its one of the best BOV for DSM

the stock 1g BOV will start leaking after 18 psi of boost , crush it and you are golden

It is different for some... I would say 1G BOV will start leak at around 24-25PSI. Otherwise, you can buy from DEJON TOOL, that 1G BOV leak fix kit and call it a day.
The problrm with BOV is that is actually, physically too small/34mm/ and when you start making good power-500+, it will not release the air out fast enought, just because of its size.

About the stock head, you should be fine..

As I said, every person and car is different... What works for me, might not work for you.
Do not take for granted what people say.. Just go from less boost UP, log the car and analize and you should be fine, GL...
