Hey I have a 92 talon tsi. I'm doing a stock rebuild on the car. I have the all new pistons, rings, wrist pins, rods, and reusing my 6 bolt crank. I have a built head with oversized valves 1mm and its cammed. i have the Walbro 255 bigger fuel pump, 750 injectors and a big 16 turbo this is the 4g63 block 6 bolt.I already have most of all the upgraded piping, bigger intercooler, and ported intake and bigger throttle body, Im running 93 octane as well and i have some questions. What is the highest boost numbers i can see on a stock pistons? The reason my motor blew up before is 2 of the rods got to hot and the wrist pin came out and made groves in my walls on the block. i just don't want this to happen again. So I'm asking for help how much boost should i really run. And why do you think the rod got to hot and the wrist pin came out? let me know what you think thanks !

Stock wastegate boost until you have a way to log data and a wideband :thumb:

Also need a way to compensate for larger injectors and a aftermarket fuel regulator to handle that pump

Yeah you left out the most important ingredient, what you are using to tune? How much boost you can run is almost entirely up to how well you tune it. Why though, if you've already blown up a motor, did you do a stock rebuild? Why didn't you go with forged pistons and rods?

i just didnt have the money for pistons and rods..... which i should of just spent the money,,,, but im using a apexi tuner and i already have a wide band

Just go with what you feel is safe and increase a level or two at a time. You know your car more than anyone. Did you maintain it well? Keep driving it / testing and view the logging and progress from there. Don't risk it again!

Don't run it all without some way to tune fuel, after you have fuel tuned run @ wastegate pressure until you have suprassed the initial 3k miles breakin or you know for a fact via testing methods your rings have seated. I would still give it at least 3k miles for the rings to seat.

Google motoman engine breakin. Use that method for breakin. Change your oil frequently during the first 3-5k miles.

Ok is there any sites that tell you how to use the apexi controller? I understand how it works but i want to be able to put my own tune/ set up on it. Just wounding if there is any step by step how to use the thing.
Thank you!
