How loud is an external dump?

Ok this may seem like a rather dumb question but while the topic has been revived, is is possible to have an o2 dump with the o2 eliminator. I am not very familiar with o2 dump kits and was just wondering.

My external sounds like a loud hiss. not really loud or annonying. actually the sould of the turbo spooling is louder then the external dump. Until i saw this thread i completly forgot i had an external dump.

an external o2 dump just helps creep and turbo lag on the low end correct? If so how much does it help. Because I have a big t28 and FWD.

I had a t28 with an external dump tubular o2 housing back in the day. Up to about 16-17psi it was cool. The one time I went to the track and turned up the boost (20psi), it would creep up to 23 or 24. :(

Now I have an external wastgate with external dump.

Coolest thing EVAR!!

Stay off boost and you'd never know it is there. My car boosts to 22psi and doesn't move .1 psi past that.

Basically: It rocks. If you want to stay legal or quiet it down a tad and have another $150 to throw around then you can make it not dump. But otherwise I don't care.

So if i were to get a 50trim (which im planning on oing in the future) i will need to have an internal dump on my exhaust if i have the turbo externally gated?

Right now I'm only running 10 psi on my 14b with my dump. To me if you can put up with a 2600 then you can put up with an O2 dump. If you don't drive around riding the clutch your leg isn't going to get tired, and if you don't go racing around all the time your not going to hearing the dump all the time. It is loud as hell though when it opens and you can't hear the turbo anymore, but being able to hear the turbine spool down when you let off makes up for it :thumb:

 hmm this kinda where I am too

See I want a 50 trim or next step up, and was kinda stumpped on external or internal. I have seen guys say they run internal with a ported EVO o2, with no creep problems. Correct me if I am wrong, But I suppose I could do the same, and if i did have any BC probs, I could just run a dump tube right?

Seems to mee that is what thie guy should do too.:)

If you run an external wastegate with an electronic boost controller does it matter what size spring you have in the wastegate or does the ebc eliminate the spring?
