Well my buddies DSM is broken, it's been that way for almost a year, he has a stock manifold wich is flanged with a turbonetics Wastegate and dumptube, it is also welded in so it accepts t3 style turbos, his downpipe is modded for the turbo.

Alright here is the deal i want to swap out the front set-up manifold/turbo/wastegate and keep it open downpipe of course since it won't fit my downpipe, i want to do this just one day or two for fun, my question is:

IS this a big hassle to do?

Taking out my manifold and oil lines and putting in his front assembly and hook up the oil lines??
I'm just curious.

Thanks

Kinda difficult the first time around, easier the second, third, fourth, and fifth time around. The biggest difficulty you're going to have is pulling the manifold off with that stud that's going to be on the turbo side of the collector. If you're lucky, it'll come off with the nut like mine did. If not, you're going to need a good set of vice grips, or try a trick that I did of putting threadlocker on the bolt, tightening it back down finger tight, let it sit for 45 minutes to set, and then trying to pull it out. I give it a 50% success rate, either way, once you got that stud out, chuck it.

Another thing to do is to seperate the exhaust side of the turbo before you pull it. Unbolt the ring clamp, and pull it out along with the O2 housing. It'll make taking out the rest of the turbo 10X easier.

Lots of rust penetrator and lots of patience will help make this easier for you. :talon:
