It took me and my friend around 3 hours in an out. including breaks on a first time try for us both in a shop with a lift. Its pretty straight forward and not that hard

Installing a tranny isn't hard, but it is cumbersome -hopefully you'll have a friend to help you. The right tools also help -a jack with as broad a base as possible, for instance, to lift the tranny into place. From there it's just trying to get the freaking dowels lined up with the holes when you go to put it back on. That's where you'll spend your 3 hours if you're like I was the first time I did it...

Instructions can be found here: http://www.vfaq.com/index-main.html
-click on "Drivetrain", then the first link is "1G clutch swap" -click on that and follow the instructions there for removing the tranny.

Good luck :thumb:

It is not that hard. I had done my own 3 or 4 times before the company sent me a good tranny. So now I'm pretty fast at it.

I went and found some VFAQ's for you. Click on this link http://www.vfaq.com/mods/clutch-1G.html . It should help you out, but it is for a clutch install. None the less you should be able to figure it out. Remember take your time and double check bolts, hoses, and everything else when your done putting it in. :talon:

make sure NOT to lift by the linkage (where the cables hook up) you can screw it up. It is fairly straight foward. On mine personally we had to bring the back up flush with the firewall to get it to clear. Then rotate it up from the front to get it all lined up. While its out anyway you may want to recheck the torque on the flywheel bolts. Wont take but a second and you know there on there right. Make sure to use good fluid. BG syncromesh seems to work the best.

Its really not that hard. Comon sence plays a mojor factor. Good luck
