how hard is it to put this into a 99 gst

Looks like he didn't know how to install a 6 bolt onto a 2g. Did he give any specifics as far as how far he got into the 6 bolt swap?

and i dont think he knew much he said he is putting a 5 bolt into his car and i was like okay you do that

so and he just said somebody told him he couldnt do it so he bought a new motor
 
Ok. I assume it is a 6-bolt. But even then it would be even more of an easy swap...

Not too sure how many JDM Galants got a 7-bolt.
 
How do you know it's out of a Galant or was even a JDM engine at all? A few of those JDM engine places aren't real legit. The link in the Craigslist page has the engine listed as an Eclipse engine, not a Galant engine. I'm banking it's a 2G 7-bolt.

I am going on the general consensus that the majority of JDM engines come out of the Galant. There might be a select few that come out of an EVO 1 or 2 and even more unlikely the RVR. There are many things that tell it's JDM. And take a look at all the rest of his 4G63 engines for sale. They all have the same specs. You're telling me that he doesn't have any 6-bolts? Also if you go by the pictures it's JDM no 2g Eclipse ever came with a red painted valve cover. The majority had that nasty unfinished slightly oxidized cover. The LICP goes over to the driver's side just like every other Galant or Evo 1 - 2. I would still buy it and since it probably came out of a Galant it by chance could have a small 16g on it (mine did). That is even more of a +.

In essence that's why I'm wondering how many JDM Galants received the 7-bolt?

If it's a 7 bolt yes it's plug and play pretty much. Depending if it has a 1g head or not. But, more than likely it's a 6-bolt and you will have to follow the guide here: http://www.magnusmotorsports.com/tech/1gina2g.pdf
