How does an o2 dump work, and what is it's benefit?

I'm just curious as to what the main benefit(s) of having an o2 dump would be. Also for my personal info. How exactly does it work? Thanks!

First off might wanna change your avatar, has to be of your car. Secondly an o2 dump just dumps the exhaust gases from the wastegate to atmosphere instead or recirculating them back into the exhaust. It can sometime's help with boost creep issue's but isn't that helpful. Aren't a lot of benefit's and it can be very loud and annoying and cause your engine back to get extrememly heatsoaked if you don't route it away.

It will make you car a lot louder. Once your wastegate opens you won't be able to hear your blow off valve going off or your exhaust. just the dump. it will also make your engine A LOT hotter if not routed away because it will just be blowing 1000*F+ exhaust gas all over your engine block.. it is supposed to help with boost creep, but after MANY MANY hours of research i have found the best/easiest/most 100% effective way to cure boost creep is to port the turbo..

The main benifit is the exhaust exiting the turbine and wastgate are at two diffent speeds, so when you recirculating it back it causes turbulance.
