How do you weld the VC?

Is there a tech article anywhere on how to weld your VC. My father in-law is a professional welder but I want to make sure we weld the VC right. This is for a Drag Only Car. I need to welded so I can take it down the road to the two wheel dyno.

you weld the center diff not the vc. go to teamripengineering and look at their discription

I know there is away to convert the VC to a VCE ether by trimming it or welding it. I just can't find instructions. I am trying not to have to weld the center. Thank You for the link though.

Put it on the shafts and tack the VC's inner sleeve to the VC's outer case (this makes sure the splines are all lined up so the VC will fit back on after welding), then pull it off and weld the whole thing on both the top and bottom. You might also want to turn down the whole assembly (after you weld it) to save some weight.

You could also save yourself the time and effort of doing so and pick up a "VCE" (welded and trimmed VC) from a shop.

TRE used to have them for ~$125 IIRC. I see SBR now has them for $200 though (that's nuts!)

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. I have been looking at the VCE at deferent shops for a few months now but I can not bring my self to spend 170 to 200 on something we can do our selves. If I could pick one up for 125 I might consider it.
I see that TRE will trim it for $50 when you send in your tranny so I am going to email them and see what they will charge to convert mine over if I send them just the VC. Thanks again.
