How do you take the alternator out of the car?

I need to replace my alternator and I got everything disconnected, mounting bolts, ground, and power cables and the belt...but I can't figure out how to pull the damn thing out. I don't see a way to pull it out the top, and the axle is in the way through the bottom. Has anybody replaced an alternator before?

Remove the lower bracket that the pivot bolt goes through. That will give you enough room to easily pull the alternator out.

That's the bracket with the three 15mm bolts right? Thanks

15mm? :shrug Sounds right. I took that picture a year ago.

I had to do that a year ago. seems like I had to remove all the alt brackets, which there are some hidden bolts that u will have to feel around for, and should be able to just pull it out the top. was a little bit fun when I did it

When i changed mine i had to jack the car as high as it would go from the front. Then i would just make my way through the engine and axle. This seemed the easiest way for me
