how do you recalibrate the stock gauges in a 2g?

i just installed a glow kit for my gauges, in order to put it in i had to remove the pins when i put everything back on the gauges were telling me that i was a 4-rpm at idol but i clearly wasn't and it was telling me i was doing 40-some mph, my question is how do you re calibrate the gauge to say normal

Sounds like you need to take the needles back out and put them on straight. Hopefully you put the gas gauge back to the same position to when you took it off.

i didnt take the gas, oil, turbo, or temp out but the temp sits way below when the car is off

ummmm kind of the same thing happened to me when i did it may i ask what you did to secure the gauge face down if your answer is tape there is your problem thats the mistake i made oooooo clear tape no no no horrible idea anyways if not then take your needels back off and replace them straight like he said ^^^ hope that helps

If you had a logger, you could use that.

For the speedometer, you can use a GPS or another car. Once you're at a speed, just push the needle on in the correct position.

For the tachometer, find someone with a logger/scan tool? Or temporarily wire in an aftermarket tach if you have access to one?

i dint use tape but i did put it on top of the stock one

what if i pull out the needle and disconnect the battery and then put the needles back it and connect it do you think that would work or dose anyone in ny have a the tool that he ^^^^^ is talking about that can give a brother a hand ??????

Doing what you just stated will not fix your situation....I myself had that same problem when I got my car...Said it was idling at 4k shifting at 8500 rpm's and said I was going like 35 while sitting still....

Even think of just removing the needles turn the car off and reposition them at 0 rpm and mph? B/c when the car is off you know your not moving and the motor is not running....

Then start up the car and see if the mph needle moved...and your rpm needle should be much better if not dead on...

ok so i think i got it, i had to download a GPS thing on my phone and do it like that, so mental not for the people that want to do this try your hardest not to pull the needles out but if you have to, remove the stops and take a pic were the needles are so you can put them back and be a close as possible, thanks to the people that helped out

I think it'd be easier just to hop the needles over the stops than removing the stops. But that would probably be the best way if you don't have a device to give you the necessary info.
