Whats up guys. Just how the title states. How do you check, install an oil pressure tester on your oil feed line for the turbo. I have a holset that I will be feeding oil from the OFH. I have 4an stainless line with all the connections and a restrictor. It is very important to check the oil pressure right before the turbo.
This way you will know what size of restrictor to use. A given oil restrictor size will not give the same desired psi on the next car. Meaning. No car has the same exact oil pressure and a different restrictor may be nessesary to achieve the desired oil pressure.
So having this said. Its a must to check the oil pressures oil feed line to turbo. This should be checked right in between the oil feed line and the turbo center housing.
So my question again is: How do you go about doing this?? How do you connect the oil pressure gauge tester to the oil feed line and the turbo center housing??
Do you use a 3 way fitting of some sort? one for the oil line, one for the pressure tester and one for the turbo?? Or do you just disconnect the oil line form the turbo and connect it to the oil ppressure gauge?? If so, wouldn't you damage the turbo while testing since you don't have any oil going to it? Now the reason that I ask this is because I bought an oil pressure tester kit. And though it came with a bunch of fittings and such, it did not come with a 3 way fitting or 3way connection of any sort. So again, how do you go about checking your oil pressure??

Thanks guys.

I used a tee fitting and got a cheap oil pressure guage. Here's what it looked like:

9!'clipseDOHC. Also, thank you very much for the link and information.
So I do need a T-fitting of some sort. I wonder why this oil pressure tester kit didn't come with any.
Thank you very much guys for clearing this out for me.

Its an engine oil pressure test kit. I bought it at harbor freight for like 14 bucks or so. It reads from 0 to 140 psi. It has the gauge, a 66" long hose and 11 solid brass fittings. So yeah, I was surprise that it did not come with a 3 way fitting or T fitting. They also sell a smaller kit for like 9 bucks.

it's because it is a tool, not a permanent gauge, so wherever you tap into is temporary and only used to check something for a short time. it's also made to check pressures on auto trannies which have ports all over them for various conditions.
