i just bought a wells crank position sensor and the wire are different colors then my harness witch wire go to where i know someone has bought a crank sensor before.

should'nt matter since the signal from it is an AC signal...........btw you won't hurt anything by switching it anyway, but the only exception i can think of is if one side of the wire harness is grounded to the mounting point, then it would'nt run unless the polarity is correct....................... :dsm:

i have the right sensor but there is three wires on my harness and on the sensor connector and they are different colors and i dont know which wires go to which. my car wont start unless i get the sensor hooked up

Actually it's a pulsed DC signal and it does matter. Also make sure you've got the N/T one (which has the connector pins in an inline rectangle as opposed to a square connector for the turbo).
NO.....a n/t eclipse with the 420a uses a simple ac pulse generator my friend..... :dsm:

Ok - thanx for that correction. In my '99 Mitsu schmatics the N/T doesn't appear that way (it shows the sensor as an output transistor supplied by a dc source which would just be a pulsating dc) but then it's not totally clear either (also some people claim they changed some electrical things in the last years).
