Open your ECU up and look at it. If it has the Below...... Than it's EPROM.

Take off the caps holding the panels to the center console, remove the screws under them. Pull out those panels, exposing the frame underneath. Theres also 2 small panels up under the foot wells more, with a screw and a plastic clip, remove passenger side one for sure. Now looking at the frame you'll find 4 10mm gold coloured bolts, 2 on each side. You'll also have to remove the cover under the passenger foot well, directly under the glove box.

MAKE SURE YOUR BATTERY IS UNPLUGGED

You should now be able to maneuver your ECU towards the passenger foot well, turn it enough to expose the wire connectors, there are 3. Unhook them, and continue to maneuver it out the passenger foot well.. From there you will find a part number on the case. MDXXXXXX something or other, there are a few sites that explain the differences in the numbers, that as well as a visual check will tell you what you have. To open the ECU there are 4 small black bolts 2 on each side of the cover.
