I have a slowboy manual ballspring boost controler and i at times see my boost get close to 20psi i have an auto meter guage and an upgraded chip from dsmchips.com that is supposed to eliminate fuel cut and expand my trim by 30% so is it kinda ok that i hit close to 20psi it handles it fine there is no bogging or sputtering or anything seems like it wants more sorta.

Did you build the car or buy it with all the mods in your profile? No logger?
Are you still using the 1g stock maf? What size injectors are you running? Did you upgrade you fuel pump? I did not see these things in you profile and would'nt suggest running 20psi. without them.

Well if your getting knock, cars usually have a good way of letting you know. It would be pretty slugish because the pcm would detect the knock and retard the timing making the car alot slower. Like everyone said get a logger to see if you are, its the only safe and sure way to know :thumb:

I am just going to get a dsmchips... chip. that is programmed for idk 560s? somethin like that. get a 3rd gen evo maf and wire adapter. An AFPR I already have a wally 255 in the car already that works perfect for some reason? and i should be fine. i dont really want to have to make home made wires and stuff i am just goin to buy things made to work together. like an ecu that already knows im using bigger injectors and stuff and i dont think i will get knock. let me know if i am missing something.

I would go with way larger than 560's, with the chip you can run whatever you want pretty much. I recommend 1000cc+ so you dont have to upgrade later on. I also would get a WBO2 and a safc for fine tuning and to make sure you always in a good AFR.

Without some type of data logging you cant tell if your knocking. Yes you can feel timing being pulled but only if its drastic. I know how my car always feels so I can usually feel if shes knocking but not if its only a few degrees of timing pull. GET A LOGGER and turn the BOOST down till you get one.

With the DSMCHIPS you can have the stock boost gauge set up to read knock. It isn't as good as a logger because it is pretty much impossible to tell exactly how many counts of knock you are getting but it is better than nothing. I am surprised your chip is not setup like that, most are from what I have seen.

does a wide band just tap into the o2 sensor wires? what is a good cheap safc all the ones i see look complicated or expensive. how does a safc work and can i get like a manual one so i can be a cheap Fu#$ LOL
so to do injectors i need to get a....
safc "does this take the place of having an e-prom chip?"
wideband "Air/ fuel guage?" or logger?
fuel pressure reg.
got pump installed already LOL with out fuel reg.
what else?

1. The wbo2 comes with its own sensor and gauge, it will have to have a bung welded in the downpipe for the sensor and the guage installed in the car. You can see the actual afr's of the car so you can tune it yourself.

2. The SAFC wires into the ecu. It tricks the MAS into seeing a predetermined airflow allowing the user to control the fuel curve +/- 50%. You would only use this to fine tune the WOT fuel curve. The burned eprom ecu will take care of the larger injectors and wont cause the timing to raise drastically which is the problem with just using a SAFC. Get the 2nd version, they can be found for under $100.

3. If you have an eprom ecu and going to have it reburned I would go with 1000cc injectors so you dont have to upgrade later. The wbo2 will have a REAL air fuel gauge, not the crappy blinking light show like autometer makes. You dont need a fuel pressure regulator unless your stocker gets overrun which ive never seen on any 1g's locally including mine. You dont need an SAFC if the eprom is burned for your injectors but to get a good tune and control of the car you will need one.

IMO you should get ecmlink Lite. Its about the same cost as having eprom chip burned, safc, and data logger. Its about $345 and real easy to use not to mention you will get all the features the burned ecu will give you but you can make changes yourself.

well the chip is kinda sounding the eastiest way so far. so it will be stick injectors in, install w/bo2, 2-3rd gen maf. and then get chip burned i wont be running at 100% efficientcy but i wont hurt my engine as long as i run lower boost correct? i kinda want to get the car like close to 400 whp then just enjoy it for the summer.

i know you dont think this is the best way but the chip is kinda sounding the eastiest route for now. so if i understand it right goin the chip way it would just be 1. install injectors ,2. install w/bo2 3. install 3rd gen evo maf. 4. get chip burned for 1000 cc injectors. dsmchips asks for fuel pressure as well what should i run for fuel pressure?so i wont be running at 100% efficientcy but i wont hurt my engine as long as i run lower boost correct? i kinda want to get the car like close to mid 400hp its already close too so then just enjoy it for the summer :)
