I have no boost right now because im waitin on external, so theres not a lot of hp. I let go of the pedal slowly and push the gas, feels like i pushed in the pedal again. I dont smell anything like what ive heard a clutch smells like. the only smoke is from the bad turbo bearing burnin extra oil out the exhaust. After I let go of the pedal, I can rev it up as much as I can and almost no response. I almost couldnt make it up onto my dads trailer to haul it back from his shop. HELP. I looked at the clutch before installation and it looked like it had life left in it, but not sure if I got anything on it like oil or coolant, I didn't remember anything being on it. If it is the clutch, does any1 have anything good to say about the clutchnet 6 puck with the stock pressure plate? Thanks all

i've got a clutchnet 6 puck sprung disc waiting to go in my talon along with a clutchmasters pressure plate.

i HAD a 6 puck sprung disc in my '87 rx7, but it got stolen the day after i installed the clutch. I didn't really get to test it very much, but from what i did drive on it, it seemed like it would grab really good. I would not know about the long term, though.

if you want to know if your clutch is slipping go onto the highway and put it in 5 gear, and floor it all the way down, this puts amazing amount of pressure onto the clutch, if it slips ur rpms will rocket up and ur engine will hit its cutoff if you dont have a missing link in. Thats the only way i know, unless you actually drops the trans and look at it.

I went ahead and bought a clutchnet sprung puck anyway. I got it for $150. I sure its as good as they say! I am having a pro install it so that nothing goes wrong, do u guys think $300 is a good price to remove the the tranny along with the suspension and everything on a 1G TSi. I thought it was fair since my time is worth wayyyy more then that. He is going to start on monday the second and have it finished maybe by wednesday!!! That would be koooooooool!!

hehe you bought your clutchnet from that guy on ebay didnt you?

thats where i got mine and it took him like 1 and a half months to ship it to me!

I got mine last monday and just got it back from being installed, $550 later(150for clutch and 400 for mechanic,I got lazy) he had the machine shop resurface the flywheel cause of hotspots and had it stepped to .612( thats right, right?) Anyways, its doing the same thing, I found out that only the 2 rear tires spin???? I got stuck in the mud all easy and found out that the rear 2 were spinning like crazy and the front drivers wasnt spinnin at all!!! I didn't see if the front pass was or not, but the tire marks were identical! any sugg. since I spent all that money to find out that the old clutch wasnt the problem, the mechanic said the the clutch was to factory specs, but did show signs to a little slippage, very little slippage though! had a guy sugg. that part of the center diff locked up and only sends power to rear end, but said that he couldnt confirm that. the only problem with having this rwd is that its still robbin power, could it be that the new clutch is slippin too, the stock pressure plate looked good so I had him use it( is that a bad idea). OK the question is, Could the center diff. lock up causing it to send only a little power to the rear wheels and none to the front, OR Is the new clutch slipping also, cause I used the stock pressure plate?????( Any replies would be helpful, as I am getting a .60 a/r t3/t4 turbo by the end of this week and want to know if I should be running it like this??? Thanks in advance for all positive replies!!! :barf: :talon:
