How do I know if this is a 6 bolt.

I know this has to have been covered before, but after searching for over a half an hour I only found 1 thing on it. The person who had my car before me did a lot of work, and I want to be sure if he did a 6 bolt swap or not, so I'm wondering what the differences are. The only link I've found is to a VFaq that said the oil pan is differently shaped. Any other differences you can tell off hand?

i know this doesnt help answer your question, but go to [my cp/my profile] at the top of the screen, then click [edit vehicle profile] and fill out the information so people know what kind of car you have. it comes in VERY useful in alot of cases....

I am pretty sure that the oil pan is the only way to tell with out taking the engine appart.

if its a 2g -- and has A 1g head + CamAngleSensor thats at least a start .
the 'dent' in the oil pan is a tell tail sign but even that isnt concrete.
Checking for a Crank Angle Sensor or counting the flywheel bolts are the best way i can think of.

I read there was some way to tell with the head bolts, but I'm not sure what the difference is.
