How do I change the gear oil on my 95 gs manual?

I've been told that I need to change the gear oil on my car. What exactly do I need to do to change it, and where do I change it at? Also, what type of gear oil do I need? I've been told to use 80/90.

You have to drain the old oil first. There is a drain plug on the bottom of the transmission. I know its probably not the right way to add oil but usually when putting more in I take out the speed sensor and use a long funnel and pour oil in there. I fill it until I can see the oil. I used straight 30 weight but that was for my dd.

I believe OP has a 420a tranny. Im not sure the link would help the guy since I think the drain position is different.

Just make sure you don't use gear oil, you have to use a ATF4 or equivalent.

Theres a bolt on the bottom of the Tranny that sais drain above it. For the filler plug its a rubber plug on the side of the tranny(drivers side)Also make sure you use dealer fluid or else you will ruin your transmission. Its actually Manual Transaxle fluid you need. Its not cheap $20 a bottle and you need at least 2. but neither is replacing your transmission. Do it right the first time and you wont have to do it again.

So what is the proper fluid to use here. I have a 96 manual and was thinking of changing mine this weekend. ATF4, redline?? Not sure what to get now.
