Well I am having trouble keeping the car in place at launch. I brake torque and use the E-brake. I'm building about 15lbs of boost off the line. I could build more but the car won't stay in place and it wants to creep past the staging beams.
Any ideas? My setup is in my profile. Thanks guys

Wow....I think that is one of the scariest things I've seen. "Time to upgrade your brakes" "Junkyard here I come" You have to admit that is pretty funny...

Also to your question. Your brakes actually work off vacuum and obviously vacuum is the opposite of boost. So you are going to lose some braking potential.

Yes that does look pretty scary to someone who doesn't know what I am talking about. LOL
I have a 91 so my car came with the smaller single piston brakes. I am going to the junk yard to pull some off a Diamante.

I am aware of this but it still doesn't answer my question......

YOu can get a small vacuum pump to run your brakes. Some of the more serious guys use them because of the low vac associated with huge cams and such. A pump will allow you to have better braking power than the car ever would on it's own. Not sure where to get one that works best on a car though.

Wow sounds awesome! I will definitely look into that.

Rev the car in neutral to power the brakes. You should feel the brake pedal sink down., repeat till it's on the floor, then while holding the brakes, without neutral bombing it, pop it into forward gear (D, or L, however you launch it) and it should hold a lot better. I can launch from 5000 RPM and 20 PSI this way and hardly have to use the E-brake.

Hmmmmm I will give that a shot.

Yep, neutral blip and wait for the vacuum to peak and then hammer the brake pedal.

If this helps only a little get the dual caliper fronts and Hawk or Green pads and then if you need more there are other things to try that turn the e brake into a line lock. :thumb:

Awesome. Thanks guys. I have a week until the next track day so I will let you know. The last time out I blew up the turbo. I just bought an Agp rs49 to replace the Slowboy G50. Lets see if I can get the low 12 I know I am capable of.

Sorry to fill you with crap, It's just hard to know when people on this forum ask some scary questions. I actually didn't even think about that diamante's in the junk yard. Good Luck on find a set.
