How bad is it to have a tiny crack in wastegate?

Very tiny ..less than 1mm around only some part of it?

Also, would that affect peak power?

Not at all, that's fairly normal actually...Don't worry about it unless they start to make their way through the entire housing!

With vibrations (every car has them, especially when you're making more power) that little crack is gonna get bigger...a crack is a crack and should be dealt with...just my opinion

It wont hurt your engine at all. The wastegate controlls the spin of the turbine. If the crack gets bigger then it will only cause it to take a very little bit longer for the turbo to spool up.

I got this info from TURBO TOM. Hes really big into turbos and has turbo'd just about everything you can think of from weed whackers to fully built monster trucks and drag cars.

Appreciate the responses guys. However, i might have been not so clear in my description. The crack is not from old age but from me taking it to the extreme of porting it out (can't help it sometimes). It is only visible when looking from the inlet of exhman.

I couldn't seperate the exhaman and exhaust housing and while working on that issue decided to start porting (mistake). After i seperated them apart, i started seeing a tiny crack around only some part of the circumference of wastegate. It is not visible when looking at the wastegate directly.
