how bad is it to drive around with your TPS unplugged?

...drive around with your TPS unpluged? i ask because i hear that it will cure the misfire symptoms that people have with a 6 bolt in a 2G (like myself)
i also read that it's a little safer than doing the potentiometer "fix".

DSMlink is the first thing on my wish list .... and i've got the magnus motorsports page in my favorites. i know all about that fix, but i've heard that it was bad for your engine.
THAT is why i was asking about the TPS thing. so if someone could tell me a little more about that, it would be cool.

What do you mean, "bad" for the car?

It will keep certain functions of the ECU from functioning properly, such as idle speed control...

by bad i mean something along the lines of: "will it kill my engine?" or will it make it run insanely lean at WOT?

what other functions does it mess with when it's unplugged? i just want to do that until i get DSMlink, and i want to make sure that i'm not going to blow somthing.

I would imagine it would be a pretty bad idea. Why would you take the time to swap in a 6bolt and then half a$$ something like that. Wait for DSMlink. Do it right...do it once.

yeah, still running like shit. actually it's worse than before now i think. well, i mean, it runs good minus all the misfires. so it'll run good for awhile then misfire, i shut it off turn it back on and it's ok again. are you guys doing anything this weekend? tell kurt i can bring my trowel!!!
