ok, I found a hose on my engine to be leaking coolant. I need to replace it but I'm not sure what I should ask for. Bear with me as I try to describe it

If you stand facing the engine bay. On the left side of the engine there is a device that has the hose from the radiator running to it. This device has two hoses (i think two) below it running back to the firewall along side the engine. The lower hose has a hole and leaks coolant when the car is warmed up.

Am I making sense? If you can identify what im talking about thanks in advance, and how hard is this item to replace?

Those are the heater core hoses (inlet/outlet).

Since you'll have to drain the coolant anyway, I'd strongly suggest (if haven't done so already) replace the upper/lower radiator hoses, the FAIV lines (3/8" coolant lines connecting to the throttle body -- just buy 2 feet of bulk by-the-foot hose) and the thermostat :dsm:

When taking the heater hoses off the firewall connectors, don't pull on them very hard. The fittings are brass and have a tendency to break off. Just use a utility knife or something to cut a vertical line down the hose and pull it off like you're opening a clam shell. Other than that, they're really easy to replace.

Very good advice. I'd made several slots with a utility knife and still managed to mangle the soft heater core inlets a bit trying to pry those age/heat hardened hoses off :( :dsm:
