ok so i just had my balance shaft removed and a new timing belt and serpintine belt put in. i drove it for a few days and was perfectly fine. then i started it up and there was this annoying, loud squeky sound clearly coming from my belts. after i'd let it sit for awhile the noise would go away but when im driving and come to a stop, the noise comes back. the belts seem tight enough, i even used some of that belt dressing to see if that would do the trick but its no good. any thoughts?

A common cause of this problem is the Harmonic Balancer. It's the large pulley on bottom of the motor, it's got 2 channels for 2 different belts. If you say the accessory belts seem tight, that pulley is most likely your problem.

What DSMcrazy3 is trying to say is the harmonic balancer will separate into 2 pieces when it goes. If it wobbles or you can wobble it with your hands, replace it immediately or something very bad is about to happen (hint: don't even drive it then).

What happens that is very bad? I wasn't referring to crankwalk(if you were) Even so, isn't his a 6 bolt. My brother just got his 7 bolt rebuilt, but the HB needs to be replaced, so what can happen that is so bad? (j'w so I will know if something does go wrong..)
