Hey guys my 2g GST has started making a noise when I turn on the heat/a/c blower. It sounds like a whistle. Car still blows ice cold a/c. ;) just really annoying LOL any help would be appreciate.

Do you have the ability to look up inside the vents for any kind of obstructions? Does your left climate control direction knob thingy work? Whistling usually means that something is partially blocking the path of air. Is it possible that the vent closing dial thing is closing the vents? Excuse the technical talk.

I would not be concerned that it's something expensive in the AC system or heater core.

have you tried closing one of your vents? I bet the whistle get louder.. mine whistles usually whenever I have a vent close

I would remove the blower motor and clean inside the squirrel cage and any ducting I could get to. I have "something" in my duct also and it is up by the deforst duct, but it just makes a little noise at different fan settings and isn't bothersome.

Yea I have looked inside the vents I don't see anything. Been raining and working so can't do much now. I figure its not anything big because everything still works. Just more of and annoyance.

It could very well be a nest from mice. I've seen them get caught inside the blower motor fan itself. So it's possible something started to bring stuff in for a nest and couldn't finish. You know if all else fails you could try blowing compressed air into the vents.

2 more days mercaholik....you got your 50 posts. Good job, will free you up some more, congrats!! Not a bad idea on the compressed air but believe me there will be a mess to clean up, LOL. I haven't looked for my blower motor to see how hard to get to it is but he could remove it AND use compressed air to back flush any debris. :hellyeah:
