Honda seats in my DSM

Wow, I have the exact same seats sitting in the garage waiting to be installed. Its from a honda civic. How did you install the brackets?

He mentioned earlier that he had to custom fabricate the brackets to get the seats to fit, I don't see why you couldn't do that with your 1g.

Yes. I am tracking on the brackets. But I am concerned about the width factor of the seats. For example, I would love to put the EVO 8/9 leather seats in my 1G but they are a bit too wide. I wish some 1G guys would chime in.

Just for future searches here are a few Pictures of my s2000 seats in my car. For a deeper elaboration on what was needed to install them, as I found the OP's instructions SLIGHTLY lacking here's what I did..

Used both s2000 seat brackets due to weight savings.

The inside bracket nearest the center console will bolt straight in. The rear hole on this bracket will need to be reamed out slightly but nothing you couldn't so with a walmart dremal.

The outside bracket needs to be raised 1.25 to 1.5" to have the seat sit level, otherwise the top of seat will nearly contact the door. What I did to raise them was cut the rivets and welds holding the feet on to the brackets. The front foot will nearly 100% line up in its factory location, it just needs to be raised. The rear foot will need to be cut in half and turned 90* to match the rear bolt hole.


I planned to use square tubing to raise the seat levels, but I was on my gsxr when I was at the hardware store and couldn't get a 4' piece of 1.25 tubing to the house. So I went to the hardware section and found 3/4 inch nuts were 50 cents a piece and their OD was about 1 and an eighth inch. While I feel they were close enough, I actually ran across some bigger ones at work and went with them. So I got 8 of them and welded 2 together side by side. Then I welded them where the feet originally were on the bottom of the bracket and welded the feet to the bottom of the nuts. Solid as can be! I can attempt to get pics upon request. Hope this helps someone else.

As long as they look good to you, then I could be like most people and say, go for it. After being in my first DSM in a crash involving airbag deployment, all I can suggest is to think about the actual safety of your own custom seat mounts. There's a reason they use crash test dummies on these seats to make sure when the airbags deploy, it doesn't do more bodily injury to you, and you can be the best welder in the world, but your life is relying on those welds in an event of an accident. ! I had TL seats with Honda civic rails and I put em on my eclipse . ghetto but I was tight on money and I needed new seats. so I did that but i got rid of them thank god. 2 bolts were bolted and the other two wouldn't fit . but this looks clean though!

Those look amazing, I was gonna find evo 8 seats but I had a mazda mx6 I wouldn't mind having those seats in my 1g
