Honda ecu question. Please help

A buddy of mine is getting ready to swap in a motor. Its a j-spec d15b vtec. He had a d15b7 in the car before but it was not vtec. My question is what ecu is he going to be able to run, I was told a j-spec p30j would be suitable, but thats hard to find. what us-spec ecu would work. Thanx

a p28 would be suitable - you'd have more luck on a honda forum.

Yes, the p28 is vtec - you could possibly put a non-vtec ecu on it if you flash it to have the capabilities. i'd just go the easier route and get a p28, personally. they're pretty commonly used in vtec engines, hell, hondata even has modified, prechipped P28 ecus.
