Holset HX35 Turbo

Hey guys,
Last night I picked up a 7 blade HX35 in good condition with no shaft play. My question to you is, could I run this turbo around 20-25psi in my car with 650cc injectors and a 190 Walbro w/ re-wire? Or should I beef up the fuel system a little bit more? I also have dsmlink v. 2.5.

Have you upgraded the car, fuel, wideband, maintenace? I would get more fuel.

Your pump is ok your injectors aren't gonna cut it for that psi on that turbo. You have link I'd at least get some 1000s.

I'm no professional, but I think you are going to be in the 100% duty cycle range with those injectors. I would upgrade quite a bit.

I have 850s on my hx40 but havnet done much with the car, considering most of my cars are in another state.

The turbo at 25 psi will be flowing about 48-49 lbs/min, which definitely can't be supported by 650's, even at 100% IDC. You should be looking for something above 880cc to support that at 80% IDC.

I dont know much about the 2.5 version of link but if you can go big and dont look back, so your not maxing out your injectors.

I ran lean on 650's and a 190lph pump on an Evo 16g at 25psi. An HX35 is no joke. Just sell the pump and injectors you have for a wally 255 or bigger and like someone said above, just get 1000cc injectors because you can find them for almost the same price as the smaller injectors. I run RC 1000cc injectors with a DW 300lph pump and I don't have to worry about my fuel system for a while ( until I start craving a bigger turbo )

Ps- when you upgrade the pump don't forget the AFPR to keep that fuel pressure in check

I ran that exact setup last year, 22 psi was all it was good for. That was with 90+% IDC and a 625 meth nozzle. I have a set of 950's now and all is better.

One more thing, with the hx35, the one I bought has the wastegate already on it and I've seen some without that. Would I be fine just to run it with what's already on it or should I by an external wastegate?

If it already has it on it just run it that way, since its already there.
