Holset Bolts loose?

So to make a long story short, the bolts on my hx 40 that hold the compressor to the bolt on housing keep coming loose and backing out. I tried to loctite one of them to see if it helped and it didnt. Anyone else have this problem?

what about using lock washers, just an idea that popped to my head.

Regular lock washers suck. Loctite isn't going to work for you there either.

If you want to do it right, skip the BS and go right to using a Nord Lock washer.

They are the absolute best thing when you have a repeated problem with the same fasteners always backing off.

I think he just worded it wrong........................ I took it as that he was referring to the bolts that hold the turbine housing on the center cartridge.

That's what i figured. I would use lock washers although if you take these bolts off again you would need to change the lock washers out everytime. The above mentioned lock washers might be good also though i haven't used them before.

Here's some more info on the Belleville Disc Spring Washers.

Click on the pic of the Disc Spring and at the bottom you can see how the apply the load to the screw head and keep constant tension in the threads.

You can navigate to them, and they even have the Nord-Lock Washers Weapon-X mentioned.

They are like our OEM Turbo to Exhaust Manifold washers.
They are tapered like a cone.
When you tighten them down, the lay flat of course, but the taper in them applies pressure to the head of the screw, keeping constant pressure on it so that it doesn't back out.

The Nord-Lock washers look to be a very good candidate as well.
The Bellevilles even have a serrated option as well.

The Nord Lock washers are more then just a serrated lock washer.............

It is a 2 piece cam lock washer.

I have these all over my car.

No balance shafts, Prothane side motor mounts and solid front and rear motor mounts tend to vibrate everything loose.

Fastenal is also a good source for the Nord Lock washers.

Not to mention the other 10 billion products they have.

Just another suggestion, but how about safety wiring the bolts together? Yes, you would have to drill the heads of the bolts or find pre-drilled bolts, but they certainly would not come out if completed correctly.

Mine started coming loose when I originally got it going. I ended up tightening them while they were piping hot and it did the trick.
