My N1 catback blew out on the welds too. I sold the exhaust system and bought a Thermal.

.Same thing happen to me. I had to buy a used One. I am going to have it coated to see if that helps. The next exhaust I buy will be stainless steel.

the piping is not stainless, its like a mat finish. Im not sure what its called.

Mines gone 2 years with no signs of any of that..
i bought a 40 dollar muffler because i didnt know when i was getting a new exhaust, welded it on, sounded really good. all dsms sound good pretty much with any exhaust. Only thing is the muffler looked really dumb, a lot smalled than the apexi which i didnt like. but i had that on for a day then i bought a new exhaust 
Every Apex exhaust I've seen here in Jersey, where we have all sorts of different weather, has rusted and rotted to hell.
