hole in roof behind sunroof....what was it for?

I bought my car used recently and i just noticed that about a foot or so behind the sunroof theres a small hole that looks like it used to hold a phone antenna or something. Whats the best way to plug this up, and what is it for? I might just have to break out the scotch tape :thumbdown
