Here's the problem I'm having. I have a HKS type 1 turbo timer hooked up to my car using the HKS harness, when I turn the car off the turbo timer starts count down but the car shuts off immediately. I hooked up a multimeter to all the wires coming off the main harness and all of them are getting voltage. Everything seems to be working fine but it won't keep the car on for some reason. Ground is good, e-brake wire is connected, I just can't figure out why it wouldn't keep the car running. Any ideas would be great.

I have the same exact problem. Was it installed brand new? Never worked at one point? Mine use to work but now it has the same symptoms as yours.

Yes, the TT was installed brand new and it worked perfectly fine for quite a while and now all of the sudden it's not working anymore. I am going to mess around with it a little today, and try disconnecting the e-brake wire to see if that's the problem.

Did your battery recently die, and you had to give the car a jump to start up??

The reason I am asking is HKS recommends disconnecting the turbo timer, if you have to jump the car, because the voltage spike can damage the TT. Not sure if it can be related to your problem, but can be a idea if nothing else comes up.

Keep us posted.

I have jumped the battery a few times, but never heard of disconnecting the turbo timer. I checked and double checked all the connections today and still no luck. I spoke with HKS also and they said that it's most likely a faulty unit or the harness is bad. I tried hardwiring the turbo timer to the original harness and it still didn't work. So I guess it's time for a new one. Oh well thanks for the help.

disconnect the battery and let the ecu reset....if that doesn't work, it might just be the harness is bad. That's the same thing that happened to me, I purchased another harness and walaaah it worked!

I tried just buying a new harness and the unit still didn't work. So I spoke with HKS and they said it would have to be a faulty unit. So I ended up buying a new TT and it works just fine now.

On the instructions it says to disconnect your turbo timer, while jumping the car. Because unexpected voltage spike may damge the timer. I can look for the warning on the instructions if you want to get the exact warning?? I have read it on these boards as well.

Sucks you had to buy another one. But it works now so thats the good part.
