Alright...after picking up my 97 gs-t a week or so ago i found that after looking at it the turbine does not move at all...its totally locked in place.... I dont have any mods done to the car...i plan on getting a new turbo but i dont really know which one i should look into right now...i plan to get an apexi n1 and a greddy type s bov...maybe some mods like injectors...fuel pump...i was wondering if anyone had any insight for me on which turbo i should buy... i really dont care about spool up time....i was lookin into an evo III 16g but if anyone else has something else to say about it all please let me know...im looking for any help i can...im new to all the turbo stuff and really dont want a huge turbo that my motor cannot handle...

Thanks... :dsm:

In your case, since you're new and don't know about all the lines and fans and shit you would have to buy on a larger turbo. I would absolutely go with the evo III 16g. It is good for like 350hp, so it will not be maxing out your internals.

BTW did you try spinning the compressor wheel with your hand? Does it burn any oil?
Either way with the wheel locked, I don't think I would drive it...

yea i tried spinnin it with my hand...doesnt move an inch...but its the only car i have..does anyone kno if this is bad to run the motor like this???? :dsm:

When i blew my 14b my compressor wheel wouldn't budge. I drove with my car like that for a couple of months until i could afford an evoIII. The only thing that is "bad" about driving like that is how slow your car is now.

As for a turbo, the evoIII sounds perfect for you. I can tell you from experience that there is relatively no difference in spool up time from this and the 14b(May be some difference with the t25). The great thing is the topend difference between my 14b and the EVO is very noticeable so if you get it you'll definately feel a huge difference. The only real problem that plagues these turbo's is boost creep, but that can be eliminated relatively inexpensively in most cases.

Most people will say that the 16g series turbos are the best streetable turbos for people who don't want to make drag monsters out of their cars.

I couldn't agree more... You can get more then 300hp out of them while still having a spool up time around 3k.

I would go either with a 14b or a t28 in your case, you will see no gains on any of these turbos without exhaust anyways. In that case i would get the cheap 14b and do a catback :thumb:
