HKS SSQV obnoxiously loud

Ok, so everyone knows what a HKS SSQV sounds like, its nice and unique. Well mine has gotton obnoxiously loud. As in, take the "normal" hks ssqv sound, and multiply it by about 3-5 times (no exaggeration) it is ear piercingly loud. What would cause this?

It's not recirculated.

I did, and added a bigger turbo, but it sounded like that with my 16g. I mean, as long as its doing its job I don't see a problem with it, but its loud for a reason I am sure.

You can remove the air divider (the orange / purple 3 point whistle adder) and it will sound like a whoosh of air like a TiAl.

increased airflow and pressure (thereby more mass air) in your charge pipes means more air to evacuate at a higher pressure differential. More air and higher pressure differential passing the whistle divider = longer duration and louder sound.

^ Makes sense, but it did the same thing with my 16g. I did however notice this when I switched to my vrsf intercooler as well. Could that really have much to do with it?

Mine kinda sounds like a mini semi. You can hear the 16g spooling over the low drone of the exhaust, and the SSQV is noticeable @ 3-4 psi shift, with it recirculated. Its pretty damn loud.

More air = more blow off valve sound.

For some reason I thought the colored pieces inside are changeable and each one has a different sound. Maybe get a different one and try it out.

Loud is not all that bad, i found its great for getting scaring those dang bicycles dudes that think they own the road! haha
