i bought a Greedy UICP flanged for hks ssqv.
i have been reading a bit, and it sounds like i am going to idle like shit.
to fix the problem... before i even buy the bov... would this help?

( this being a Recirculation Kit )

if i bought that, with my Greddy UICP and HKS BOV would any idling problem caused by the new pipe and bov be fixed?

i figured id add the pic..

oh yeah i knwo how to use the search box :D :thumb:

that doesn't look like a Greddy pipe...but anyway buy the re-circ kit or you will idle like shit, the BOV will be louder open atmosphere tho

so its duct taped together?

its a dsm what do you expect?... no the ducttape i just wound around the silicon to insure tightness, i took the clamp off and dindt put it back on for the pic.

It'll be fine with the recirculation kit. It's when people try to vent to the atmosphere that they cause issues. BTW, make sure that pipe fits right in your car, cause I have a Greddy UICP, and besides that elbow, I thought they all came polished, unless he painted it red like that.

From the pic of your pipe, and mine in my car, it looks like its the same pipe.

horsepowerfreaks.com has it a lot cheaper than that.... or pm me... i have the fitting i'd prolly let go as i'm running a MAFT.

i guess this only happens to some people, i had a HKS ssqv on my 1st gen GSX, vented, idle stays the same, my brother has a HKS SSQV on his 2g eclipse GSX, being vented, idles the same, the bov we bought came with a intake cap though, which covers up the recirculation tube, because we arent recirculating, just that this might help out.

i got my hks bov working and its venting. I woudnt buy a recirculation kit for it since that kind of defeats the purpose of the hks design. Venting it really doesnt hurt your car or idle at all if you install it right, just make sure all your hose clamps are torqued down very tightly or you'll have problems. Your going to need a manual boost controller also if you vent it. I did.

Yea i thought the same thing when i read that back whenever. A boost controller has nothing to do with your BOV for one and the effects of venting on a car w/ our type of air metering system are well documented. Just because it doesn't die when you shift doesn't me its running IDEAL.

im going to agree w/ greathuskie. unless u have a SAFC or a MAFT then dont waste ur time.

-.- I hate to agree with the noobs but I vent and I run a dejon tools UICP and a SSQV but at idle it doesn't affect you. If YOU GUYS READ thats what he said, he didnt say it doesnt hinder your performance. I am still working on my getting my car to more efficient while venting and tuning it is a biatch.

If you are vented, the car WILL run rich whenever you blow off.

No way around it except for a MAFT or similar setup.

It may idle and drive fine, but the above still applies.
