I just picked up both of these and had a question.I dont have them yet but was looking at the ebc's install instructions:
HKS USA EVC IV Instructions - Install

Here I am a little confused.I thought the tial external gate only had one vac nipple on it, but the instructions show 3 hoses from the ebc.2 to the e.w.g, and one to the intake mani. Where does the third go?Or does the tial have two vac nipples? Also, why does the instructions show a "t" going to both the w.g and to the intercooler piping?

This is the normal hook up for a EBC running an external gate. The Tial will have 2 vacuum/pressure ports. One above & one below the diaphragm, just like shown in the install pic. Most EBC solinoids have 2 ports that need to be hooked up with an external gate but I would imagine the 3rd port on the HKS is the boost pressure reference (all pressure connections in one case vs a seperate solinoid & pressure sensor).

The T from the IC pipe that goes to the lower WG port & then to the solinoid is a normal connection & supplies boost pressure to both these locations. The solinoid is an on/off valve that allows or blocks boost pressure to the top of the WG, which controls boost pressure.

Ok.I think I get it.Right now i have my boost gauge tapped into the intake mani...Do I connect one line from the ebc to the intake mani, one line to the lower nipple on the wg, and the third line split from to the wg and the other end to the intercooler pipe (or compressor housing on the turbo)? right?Plus im assuming im supposed to weld the flapper shut on the turbo as well correct?Sorry for the noob questions, Im new to external wastegates...

Yes, you can tap into the line you have your boost gauge on for the boost reference (or between the fpr is another common place). For the other connections, their exactly like the pic shows (you listed it wrong). One line is direct to the WG top port, other line is to the WG lower nipple & also t'd into either a lower IC pipe, jpipe or compressor cover (whichever you have in your setup) for the boost source.
