wow...all of a sudden im finishing doing the 2gb front bumper conversion...turn on the car and drive home...i go into boost to catch a light, i take a look at my intrumental cluster and gauges from time to time...like i was saying. All of a sudden, i look at my boost gauge and it reads 20lbs...what can be wrong here ??

Check and make sure you didn't accidentally disconnect any vacuum lines around your turbo, specifically your wastegate. Maybe you somehow knicked it and it's leaking vacuum that's supposed to trigger the wastegate flapper and cause it to open. When it opens it causes exhaust gases to bypass the turbine and thus prevents boost from creeping past intended levels. Do you have a MBC? Check that too. And DON'T drive it, LOL. If you have to gimp it somewhere, stay out of the boost.

BCS? Boost Control Solenoid? Not too sure on that personally. I'm fresh in the boat myself. I've had a previous DSM, but wasn't too much on the DIY side of things. I'm dead broke these days (or atleast, I don't like paying some ass hole 500 bucks to do simple stuff to my car) and am trying stuff myself.

But yea, check the wastegate actuator and make sure there is still a vacuum line that is hooked up to that. Also, check the arm that runs from that to the turbine side and make sure it's still moving right and not stuck CLOSED, or open. You can do that by (once you find it) taking the vacuum line from the actuator and hooking up an airhose to it and pumping it full of some juice. When you put air into that line it should cause that arm to move, indicating that the wastegate is opening. You can do this all with your car off in about 10 minutes if you got the airhose. I did it at a gas station on a buddies car once just for kicks to see how it works. The line should tee off from you BCS, so you should be able to find it pretty easily. Good luck! :thumb:

You mustve some how disconnected the line from your stock bsc to your waste gate.
If its not connected it would be like running open wastegate with no limit of boost except the limit of the waste gate/or turbo itself. If everything is connected properly then i dont know how it could boost that high by itself unless your flapper is getting stuck closed or something weird that ive never encountered before.

Yes... You can increase your psi safely to about 14lbs ( Only do this if you know everything on the car is good... Think of this part of my message as a disclaimer... ) But put a skinny screw in that fits in that smaller hole w/o damaging it in any way and screw it in about 4 to 5 millimeters deep and then unscrew it and that little plastic piece in there should come out with the screw.
