ok ... here is a little back ground. i finally installed my mbc and boost gauge set it to 15 psi ( :thumb: car ran great). this was on saturday. later on that night i went out to the local umm "drag" to race all the ricers and wannabes, meanwhile car still running great. then i pick up my bro-in law and take him for a spin. whilst doing this another dsm buddy flags me down at autozone to let me know he is about to race a crx (b16 w/ t3/t4 turbo vs his 90 laser). all sounds good so i take off to follow them. i pull out from autozone, forgetting about the big dip, then "SMACK" i scrape/hit hard. i am somewhat concerned but think to myself "damn i need to be more careful" and try to get on it to catch up. car runs good up to 3000 rpms, then it starts to umm run like poop. it still builds boost according to the gauge and the bov (blitz ss) barely goes off, instead of its normal ppppsssshhhhhtttttttttt it is more like chirp. and it wont rev past about 4000 rpms. i drove it home and noticed i ripped up my flex pipe and that i have gear oil leaking (i am not worried about that problem). could an exhaust leak make it run like that? i remember last summer i had a nut come loose on the exhaust manifold and it ran poopie also. or did i damage something more seriously? any help, thoughts, or any input would be appreciated.  :( :barf:

well, if you hit with enough force to rip your flex pipe, you could have scraped hard enough to crack your exhaust manifold, but that wouldn't keep your RPM's below 4000, maybe you could check your TPS alignment or something else, or possibly, you popped an IC pipe or something else. Check everything you possibly can, then come back and tell us what you found. (NOTE: I am not a mechanic, I am just giving some suggestions on what it might be, I COULD BE COMPLETELY WRONG.)

well ... i bought some of that muffler wrap that is supposed to repair cracks and leaks and wrapped it around the flex pipe (it was not ripped as bad as i made it seem). i also noticed that the adjustment screw (it's really a stud ... i had the same one on my awd ) so i am using a screw with teflon tape for now. it is running good now. i guess it was the exhaust leak and boost leak causing it to run poopie. now all i need to do is to push my axle back in right and fix that leak. (oh yeah ... i did check all the hoses i could ... even shortened some hoses that were to long) plus i had an exhaust leak last year on my 91 tsi awd that wouldn't let me rev very high, so i thought that may be the problem.

Rey, you moron! I had another good downpipe and flex pipe. Why did you go out and buy that stuff? Seriously man. -Ross

the flex pipe on my car is 3" ... not stock like the one you have ... plus i would have to have it welded on ... mine goes from stock to 2 1/2" to 3" flex pipe back to 2 1/2" ...
