newcastle,
I have just fully rebuilt my motor, and have installed my own adjustable boost setup in the cockpit, a swagelock fitting off the turbo manifold to a psi gauge then to the pintel valve and back to the actuator fooling the actuator into believing there is the 6-7 psi coming from the turbo, when i increase the boost the car really starts to pull harder but in the upper rev range i do hear a fast ticking, i also noticed now there is a black goo coming from the knock sensor so ime thinking could that be knock ime hearing and the sensor is screwed so the ignition system is not retarding the ignition????????????

is there a way of finding out if this is knock, and is the knock sensor broken.

thanks for your help.

You will need some sort of a logger to view your knock. If there is goo dripping from your knock sensor I would say to just get a new one and put it in. Hopefully I misunderstood you, but you should not have any fitting off the turbo manifold. (except for an exhaust temp guage) You should have your fitting on the compressor housing, j-pipe, intake manifold, etc.

ahh maybe ime saying manifold but its the j-pipe the pressure side of the turbo its the red nipple, also what is a logger and any ideas where to get these.

thanks very much
